Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak won more awards than we can count since forming Silk Sonic, and they came back to dominate another award show on Sunday night. They collected the top music awards at the 2022 BET Awards, while King Richard dominated the movie categories.
Silk Sonic managed to beat Drake, Doja Cat, and Kanye West to win the album of the year at BET Awards – but that was just the beginning. It also won awards for the best group and video of the year, while Anderson .Paak collected the trophy for the video director of the year.
Silk Sonic was closely followed by Kendrick Lamar with two wins, including best male hip hop artist. Megan Thee Stallion was named the best female hip hop artist, while Jazmine Sullivan and The Weeknd won awards for the best female and male R&B/pop artist, respectively.
As for film and TV categories, it was a big night for King Richard. This film collected two accolades, including the best movie and best actor for Will Smith. Zendaya collected the trophy for the best actress for Euphoria and Spider-Man: No Way Home.
The 2022 BET Awards took place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on June 26, with Taraji P. Henson returning as a host.
