The Golden Globes were held privately without any celebrities in attendance this year, but that didn’t stop Hollywood’s biggest stars from collecting shiny trophies. The Power of the Dog and West Side Story were the biggest winners of the night, while Succession dominated the TV categories.

The Power of the Dog topped the list of nominees with seven nods and eventually walked away with three accolades. In addition to winning one of the biggest awards of the night, best motion picture – drama, it also scooped the awards for best director (Jane Campion) and best-supporting actor (Kodi Smit-McPhee).

It was also a good night for Steven Spielberg’s remake of West Side Story, which managed to beat the likes of Don’t Look Up and Licorice Pizza to win the award for the best motion picture – musical or comedy. Its stars Rachel Zegler and Ariana DeBose collected acting awards in their respective categories.

When it comes to the TV field, Succession was the only show to walk away with three awards—best drama series, best actor in a drama (Jeremy Strong), and best-supporting actress (Sarah Snook). HBO Max series Hacks collected the award for best comedy series, while The Underground Railroad was crowned as the best miniseries.

The 79th Golden Globe Awards took place on January 9th, without a celebrity host and live broadcast.
