The Primetime Emmy Awards are the most highly-anticipated award show coming our way this summer, and the nomination ceremony is just a few weeks away. The Television Academy tapped Emmy winners Tony Hale and Sheryl Lee Ralph to announce this year’s nominees.
The Television Academy chair Cris Abrego announced this amazing comedic duo will help them acknowledge excellence as they embark on a season of tremendous celebration.
“While this year has been marked by significant challenges for our industry and its workforce, there has been an abundance of remarkable programs, extraordinary performances and impactful storytelling,” said Abrego in a statement.
Hale is best known as the star of the cult comedy series Arrested Development and Veep, and he has three Emmy wins under his belt, including two for Veep and one Children’s and Family Emmy Award for The Mysterious Benedict Society. He most recently starred in Unfrosted and Inside Out 2, and will next appear in Netflix’s The Decameron.
Sheryl Lee Ralph is a Broadway veteran with a long list of TV and film credits under her belt, who recently won her first Emmy Award for her supporting turn in Abbott Elementary.
The 2024 Primetime Emmy Awards will return to the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on September 15, and the host is yet to be announced.
