The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards are just a few weeks away, and we finally know who’ll host the upcoming ceremony. Megan Thee Stallion, who’s coming into this year’s show with five nominations under her belt, will be in charge of hosting the festivities.
Stallion will make her awards show hosting debut at this year’s VMAs, but something tells us she’ll feel right at home on that stage. She previously served as the host of Saturday Night Live, and made a pivot to acting in recent years with roles in TV shows Good Girls and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
Stallion is a recipient of two MTV VMAs for Best Power Anthem in 2019 for “Hot Girl Summer” and Best Hip-hop in 2020 for “Savage”. She’s in the running for five awards this year, including best collaboration for “Wanna Be” ft. GloRilla, plus best hip-hop, best direction, best visual effects, and best art direction for “Boa”.
MTV also recently announced a list of artists who’ll perform at the upcoming ceremony, including Benson Boone, Camila Cabello, Chappell Roan, GloRilla, Halsey, Lenny Kravitz, LISA, Rauw Alejandro, and Sabrina Carpenter, plus Katy Perry, the recipient of this year’s Video Vanguard Award.
The 2024 MTV VMAs will take place at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, on September 11.
