After months of rumors about the casting of Sam Mendes’ The Beatles movies, the Oscar-winning director finally made things official. Joseph Quinn, Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan, and Harris Dickinson will officially star in his four interconnected films about the members of the Fab Four.
Sam Mendes shared the details about this project during Sony’s CinemaCon presentation and described The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event as the “first bingable theatrical experience.”
“I had been trying to do a film for years, but I finally gave up because the story was too big for one film… There had to be a way to tell the epic story for a new generation … I can assure you there is still plenty left to explore, and I think we found a way to do that,” said Mendes at CinemaCon.
The cast of this cinematic experience will be led by Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Harris Dickinson as John Lennon. Each member of The Beatles will get his own film, which will give the audience a chance to understand them more deeply.
The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event will be released in April 2028, while the principal photography on the four films will take a full year.
