Minecraft is one of the most successful video games ever made, and its big-screen adaptation has been a long time coming. After a lot of anticipation, Warner Bros. dropped the first teaser trailer for A Minecraft Movie, which puts a fun twist on the iconic game we all know and love.
A Minecraft Movie stars Jason Momoa, Sebastian Eugene Hansen, Emma Myers, and Danielle Brooks as Garrett “The Garbage Man” Garrison, Henry, Natalie, and Dawn, four misfits who are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal and transported to a bizarre, cubic wonderland known as the Overworld.
After running into an expert crafter Steve (Jack Black), they’ll embark on a magical quest through Overworld, and learn how to harness the power of their imagination and reconnect with the qualities that make them unique in an attempt to master this new world and find their way back home.
The cast of this movie also includes Jennifer Coolidge, Kate McKinnon, Jemaine Clement, and Matt Berry in mystery roles. Jared Hess was in charge of directing it, while Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer wrote the script, drawing inspiration from Mojang Studios’ best-selling video game of all time, with over 300 million copies sold worldwide.
A Minecraft Movie will be released by Warner Bros. Pictures on April 4, 2025.
