They say that Chuck Norris can count to infinity, twice.

Well, Jared Padalecki is the new Chuck Norris.

The Supernatural act is set to star in a reboot of Norris’s series, Walker, Texas Ranger.

The original, which aired between 1993 and 2011, saw the 79-year-old as a member of the Texas Ranger Division who used martial arts to keep the community safe from perpetrators.

The reboot is currently in development and will follow the titular character as he returns from years undercover. Now a widower and father of two, he begins fighting crime with a new partner, who is one of the only female Rangers in history.

Anna Fricke is attached to write and executive produce the new series, with Padalecki also serving as executive producer while starring in the lead role.
