There’s a lot of anticipation surrounding the upcoming Brit Awards, as they introduced gender-natural categories for the first time in history. We finally know who’ll be competing, as Adele and Ed Sheeran topped the list of nominees with four nods each.
Adele and Ed Sheeran will face each other in each category they’re nominated in, starting with the album of the year. Dave and Little Simz, who also received four nominations each, join them in this category, together with Sam Fender. They’re all also in the running for the artist of the year trophy.
When it comes to the song of the years, Brit Awards picked whooping 15 contenders. Sheeran’s “Bad Habits” and Adele’s “Easy on Me” are in the running, but they’ll have to face tough competition in “Cold Heart” by Elton John and Dua Lipa and “Clash” by Dave and Stormzy, among others.
When it comes to international categories, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Lil Nas X, Olivia Rodrigo, and Taylor Swift all received nominations for international artist of the year. The first four acts are also competing for the best international song, along with The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Måneskin, and more.
The 2022 Brit Awards will take place on February 8th, 2022 at the O2 Arena in London, with Mo Gilligan serving as a host.
