After giving us several award-winning movies, Alfonso Cuarón is finally ready to share his first television series with the world. The first trailer for Disclaimer is here, and it stars Cate Blanchett as a journalist who’s forced to face the ghosts of her past.

Disclaimer is based on Renée Knight’s best-selling novel of the same name, and here’s what it has in store according to its official logline:

“Acclaimed journalist Catherine Ravenscroft built her reputation revealing the misdeeds and transgressions of others. When she receives a novel from an unknown author, she is horrified to realize she is now the main character in a story that exposes her darkest secrets.”

Blanchett will lead the series as Catherine Ravenscroft, who’s forced to confront her past before it destroys her relationships with her husband Robert (Sacha Baron Cohen) and their son Nicholas (Kodi Smit-McPhee). Kevin Kline, Lesley Manville, Louis Partridge, Leila George, Hoyeon, and Indira Varma will join them in supporting roles.

Disclaimer was created for Apple TV+ by Alfonso Cuarón, the Oscar-winning filmmaker behind Gravity and Roma. Several episodes of this psychological thriller will be shown at the Venice Film Festival ahead of its two-episode premiere on Apple TV+ on October 11.
