Anya Taylor-Joy broke into the mainstream with the lead role in the Netflix series The Queen’s Gambit, and their next collaboration is finally on the horizon. The Golden Globe-winning actress will lead the upcoming adaptation of Bella Mackie’s hit novel How to Kill Your Family.

Taylor-Joy’s character Grace Bernard is the daughter of a billionaire and a ruthless social climber Simon Artemis, who had an affair with her mother and then left them to fend for themselves.

“When her mother dies and she’s rejected by the very people who should love her, Grace transforms her anger into something useful: killing off this estranged extended family via morbidly creative means. Grace is clawing her way towards revenge and a hefty inheritance, but her mission only pulls her further away from what it is she really needs,” reads Netflix’s logline.

Emma Moran (Extraordinary) serves as lead writer of this series, and she’ll executive produce it alongside Taylor-Joy, Mackie, and Sid Gentle’s Sally Woodward Gentle, Lizzie Rusbridger, and Lee Morris.

Taylor-Joy previously collaborated with Netflix on The Queen’s Gambit, which earned her an Emmy nomination, in addition to a Golden Globe and a SAG Award. Her recent credits include Dune: Part Two and Furiosa, and she’s attached to Scott Derrickson’s action drama The Gorge.
