The trippy new tune is here to promote Grande’s highly anticipated fourth album Sweetener. It’s coming out on August 17, and The Light Is Coming proved it’s worth the wait. The video features a dark trip through the woods, but a moody atmosphere doesn’t stop Grande from dancing her heart out. Her fans will probably do the same every time the song comes up on the radio this summer.
“The Light Is Coming” marks Grande’s fifth collaboration with Nicki Minaj. It comes two years after their hit Side to Side, and it’s not the only song they worked on recently. Nicki’s upcoming fourth studio album Queen will also feature a duet between the two called Bed. The music video is probably coming soon since they dropped the steamy one-minute teaser a few days ago.
Before making it to Youtube, “The Light Is Coming” had an exclusive premiere via the Reebok official website. Grande is a brand ambassador for this athletic company and she rocked a pair of their sneakers in the new video. They don’t exactly match her outfit, but wearing something comfortable during a foggy trip to the woods actually makes sense.
