Ariana Grande has given us several amazing music videos during her Eternal Sunshine era, and her latest is the best one yet. She transformed into Catwoman in the star-studded visual for “The Boy is Mine”, which sees her trying to get the attention of a hunky mayor, played by Penn Badgley.
The Christian Breslauer-directed visual opens with Grande preparing a love potion for Badgley’s Max Starling, the new mayor of her city. When a stray cat comes through a window and breaks the bottle, Grande tries to fix the damage, before going full Catwoman on her love interest.
She breaks into Badgley’s home, but he falls for her before she’s even able to use the potion. The end credits show the duo living their happily ever after, with a bunch of cats by their side.
In addition to Badgley, the music video for “The Boy is Mine” also stars Brandy and Monica, whose 1998 hit of the same name served as inspiration for this song. They play a duo of news anchors announcing the mayor’s press conference at the start of the video.
“The Boy is Mine” was released as the third single from Grande’s latest studio album Eternal Sunshine, which hit the shelves back in March and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
