While the U.S. broadcaster Fox is busy trying to decide if The Masked Dancer will be returning for Season 2, in the U.K. ITV has ordered the show for a second season.

The series first premiered in May and The Argonon Group-baked outfit also makes The Masked Singer, which is coming back for Season 3 on January 1. This is days after the holiday special The Masked Singalong airs on Christmas Day.

Season 2 of The Masked Dancer will be coming back with eight episodes.

The show sees 12 celebrities dancing in masks with judges Oti Mabuse, Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, and Mo Gilligan trying to guess who they are and Joel Dommett hosting. Each week, at least one is eliminated. Last year, gymnast Louis Smith won the competition disguised as Carwash.

In the U.S., The Masked Dancer premiered in December 2020, but it’s yet to be renewed by Fox.

The series is executive produced by Derek McLean, Daniel Nettleton, and Claire Horton.

The Masked Dancer wowed audiences last year and we’re thrilled to bring back the show for another series of crazy costumes, mind-blowing moves and maddeningly compelling clues. With the mayhem we’re lining up for 2022, we are already planning for the most bonkers series yet,” McLean and Nettleton said, via Variety.
