The post Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, & Ralph Fiennes to Lead “28 Years Later” appeared first on thestarsworldwide.com.
]]>Not much is known about the plot of this sequel, but it’s safe to assume it will be set in the same post-apocalyptic world as its predecessor. This franchise kicked off with 28 Days Later starring Cillian Murphy in 2002, and produced a sequel 28 Weeks Later, led by Robert Carlyle, Rose Byrne, Jeremy Renner, and Idris Elba.
Almost two decades passed since then, and director Danny Boyle is finally ready to revisit this world, alongside screenwriter Alex Garland. 28 Years Later is reportedly being developed as the first film in a new trilogy, and Sony Pictures brought Nia DaCosta on board to direct a potential second film in this series.
28 Years Later cast will be as star-studded as it gets, and it will include Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes. Comer is the Emmy-winning star of Killing Eve, who most recently starred in The End We Start From and The Bikeriders. Marvel star Aaron Taylor-Johnson will next be seen in The Fall Guy and Kraven the Hunter, while the Oscar nominee Ralph Fiennes will soon play Odysseus in The Return.

]]>Released as the lead single from Tortured Poets, “Fortnight” sees Swift joining forces with Post Malone. It perfectly illustrates the album’s themes and serves as the string connecting the rest of the album.
Songs on Swift’s latest album walk a fun line between vulnerable and vengeful, and “So Long, London” is definitely one of its most personal songs—and also the very best.
Fans believe that many of the songs on Swift’s latest album are inspired by her brief relationship with Matty Healy, and she’s given us many Easter eggs on “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived”.
In addition to seeing her explore another doomed romance, “But Daddy I Love Him” also sees Swift getting brutally honest about the parasocial relationship the public has with her, with the scathing line “God save the most judgmental creeps /Who say they want what’s best for me.”
At its core, Tortured Poets is a vindictive breakup album, but it also features a few songs that are just there for fun, and the Florence Welch collaboration “Florida!!!” is a case in point.

]]>Despite losing the Academy Award for best original screenplay at the Oscar to Anatomy of a Fall, The Holdovers won over the WGA Awards voters. David Hemingson won the trophy for writing this film, beating Air, Barbie, May December, and Past Lives.
Cord Jefferson’s American Fiction replicated its Oscars success, winning another trophy for the best original screenplay. It defeated tough competition in Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret, Killers of the Flower Moon, Nyad, and Oppenheimer.
Winners in the TV categories were pretty easy to predict, and the three main awards went to TV shows that dominated the entire award season. Succession won best drama series, The Bear was named the best comedy series, while Beef was crowned the best limited series. The Last of Us collected the trophy for the best new series, despite losing in the best drama field.
The Writers Guild of America Awards took place on April 14, after being delayed by several months in the face of the writers’ strike.

Garner will be in pretty good company on the set of this Marvel movie, which hails from director Matt Shakman. Its cast will also include Pedro Pascal (The Last of Us) as Reed Richards aka Mr. Fantastic, Vanessa Kirby (The Crown) as Sue Storm aka the Invisible Woman, Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Bear) as Ben Grimm aka the Thing.

]]>This dramatic thriller will be set in the world of academia and centers on a college professor who finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads. Dark secrets from her past are slowly coming to light after a star pupil levels an accusation against one of her colleagues.
Nora Garrett wrote the script for this project, and she’ll executive produce it alongside Imagine Entertainment’s Karen Lunder. Brian Grazer and Allan Mandelbaum are producing the film for Imagine alongside Guadagnino.
Amazon MGM Studios landed this hot package, after collaborating with Guadagnino on his upcoming tennis drama Challengers starring Zendaya, Josh O’Connor, and Mike Faist. MGM will mark its centennial anniversary with its release on April 16.
After the Hunt marks Robert’s first lead role since Sam Esmail’s Leave the World Behind co-starring Mahershala Ali and Ethan Hawke. This psychological thriller became quite a hit since premiering on Netflix last year and currently occupies the fifth spot on the streamer’s list of the most popular films in English of all time.

]]>Eternal Sunshine earned 227,000 equivalent album units following its debut on March 8, including 77,000 in album sales. This marks the largest week for an album in 2024, and it marks Grande’s sixth studio album to soar to the top of the Billboard 200 chart.
To make the whole thing even better, she also topped the Hot 100 chart with her latest single “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)”. This song drew in pretty impressive numbers during its debut week, hitting No. 1 with 32.6 million streams, 4.6 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 9,000 in sales.
“We Can’t Be Friends” is Grande’s seventh song to debut atop the Hot 100 chart, helping her break a record for most No. 1 debuts among women, previously held by Taylor Swift. Grande also made history as the first female artist with multiple chart-topping Hot 100 debuts from two different albums, having previously topped the chart with “Yes, And?”

Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. both collected acting accolades for their roles in this atomic bomb epic, which also came out victorious in three technical categories: best cinematography, editing, and original score.

]]>Anatomy of a Fall, The Holdovers, Killers of the Flower Moon, and Poor Things were also in the running for best film prize at this year’s BAFTAs, but none of them could stand their ground to Oppenheimer. After years of failed attempts, Christopher Nolan also managed to win his first BAFTA for the best director.
Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. both collected acting accolades for their roles in this atomic bomb epic, which also came out victorious in three technical categories: best cinematography, editing, and original score.
Poor Things was also among the biggest winners of the night with five awards, including the best actress trophy for its leading lady Emma Stone. Despite its huge success, this film failed to come out victorious in the outstanding British film category, losing out to The Zone of Interest.
The 2024 BAFTA Awards winners were announced from the Royal Festival Hall in London on February 18, with David Tennant serving as the first-time host.
