Luca Guadagnino’s films are always one star-studded affair and his next project will be no exception. Ayo Edebiri will star alongside Julia Roberts and Andrew Garfield in Guadagnino’s dramatic thriller After the Hunt.
Written by Nora Garrett, After the Hunt will “center on a college professor who finds herself at a personal and professional crossroads when a star pupil levels an accusation against one of her colleagues, and a dark secret from her own past threatens to come to light,” according to its official logline.
This project hails from Amazon MGM Studios and Imagine Entertainment, and it will be produced by Guadagnino and Imagine Entertainment’s Brian Grazer and Allan Mandelbaum, with Karen Lunder and Nora Garrett executive producing.
After the Hunt is eying the 2025 release date and it will kick off production sometime this summer. Edebiri joined the cast in an undisclosed role and she’ll star opposite Julia Roberts and Andrew Garfield.
Edebiri rose to prominence with the role in FX’s acclaimed dramedy The Bear, which will return for its third season next month. She won several major accolades for her role, including an Emmy, Golden Globe, SAG Award, and Critics’ Choice Award. She’s attached to several more high-profile projects right now, including the animated film Inside Out 2, the sci-fi comedy Omni Loop, and the horror film Opus.
