Netflix is plotting the Peaky Blinders movie, and its cast is shaping up to be an embarrassment of riches. The Oscar nominee Barry Keoghan will join Cillian Murphy and Rebecca Ferguson in this highly-anticipated sequel film.

Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight is returning as the writer of the sequel film, which will take us back to Birmingham and reunite us with Thomas Shelby, the fearless leader of the Peaky Blinders crime gang.

The recent Oscar winner Cillian Murphy is returning as Thomas Shelby, and he’ll produce the film alongside Knight, Caryn Mandabach, and Guy Heeley, plus executive producers Tom Harper, David Kosse, Jamie Glazebrook, Andrew Warren, and David Mason. He’ll be joined by Rebecca Ferguson and Barry Keoghan in supporting roles.

Barry Keoghan cemented his status as one of the biggest rising stars of his generation with appearances in The Killing of a Sacred Deer, Dunkirk, and Eternals. He scored an Oscar nomination and won a BAFTA for his supporting role in The Banshees of Inisherin, and later received multiple more major nominations for his lead role in Saltburn.

He starred in the war drama Masters of the Air earlier this year, and will next be seen in Andrea Arnold’s drama Bird and Christopher Andrews’ thriller Bring Them Down.
