It has been announced that Ben Daniels will be joining the cast of “The Crown” for season 3.

The British actor, best known for his role in House of Cards and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, will be taking on the role of Princess Margaret’s husband, Antony Armstrong-Jones. The couple were married in 1960 and divorced eighteen years later. Armstrong-Hones died at the start of last year.

The upcoming season is predicted to cover the late 60s through to the early 1970s. Helena Bonham Carter will be replacing Vanessa Kirby in her role as Princess Margaret and Olivia Colman will take over Claire Foy’s role of Queen Elisabeth. Daniels will be taking over from Matthew Goode.

“After being glued to the first two seasons of The Crown I am beyond thrilled to be joining the cast of this incredible piece of television. Snowdon was such a dynamic and complex man, I’m really looking forward to playing him,” Daniels said.

Season 3 of The Crown will premiere in 2019.
