Joseph Kosinski’s long-awaited Formula 1 film finally has a title and release date, and its first teaser trailer just hit the shelves. Brad Pitt is racing against time in the first promo clip for F1, which sees him helping a young prodigy become the next Formula 1 World Champion.

Pitt leads the film as Sonny Hayes, who was forced to retire from racing after suffering a career-ending crash during the ’90s. He finds himself back in action after the boss of a fictional APXGP team recruits him to mentor rookie prodigy Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris).

In addition to Pitt and Idris, the cast of F1 will also include Kerry Condon, Javier Bardem, Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia, Samson Kayo, and Shea Whigham. Several Formula 1 stars are also expected to make an appearance, including Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz Jr., and Sergio Pérez.

Hamilton also serves as one of the film’s producers alongside Kosinski, Pitt, Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner. The seven-time World Championship winner has reportedly been involved in many aspects of the film, including screenwriting.

The first trailer was unveiled ahead of the 2024 British Grand Prix, revealing that F1 would hit international theatres on June 25, 2025, before premiering in North America on June 27, 2025.
