Camila Mendes’ post-Riverdale career is shaping up to be pretty amazing, and she just landed a role in another high-profile project. She’ll star opposite Nicholas Galitzine in Amazon’s upcoming Masters of the Universe reboot, after being cast in the role of Teela.

The new live-action reboot of Masters of the Universe is being developed by Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films, and Travis Knight will direct it from a screenplay by Chris Butler. This project is still gathering its main cast and plot points are being kept under wraps, but we know it will hit the theaters on June 5, 2026.

Mendes’ casting is the latest piece of information we have about this project, and she’ll play the Captain of the Royal Guard at the palace of Eternos. Her character plays a crucial role in the journey of Prince Adam/He-Man since she’s the one responsible for training and protecting him.

Mendes is best known as the star of the CW teen drama Riverdale, and she’s been doing a great job expanding her resume since this series ended its run. She led several acclaimed films in recent years, including Netflix’s back comedy Do Revenge and Amazon Prime Video’s rom-coms Música and Upgraded.
