It’s hard to ignore the importance of Marvel’s Black Panther. The film shattered every record imaginable and couldn’t have arrived at a better time. Actor Chadwick Boseman, who plays the title role, earned high praise for his performance. The film couldn’t be as successful without director Ryan Coogler at the helm. Both of the men rightfully earned their spot on the list.

Gal Gadot gave young women the power to believe in themselves as Wonder Woman. The 2017 film is considered to be one of the best superhero films ever made, and it’s no surprise Gadot made her debut on this year’s list.
