It’s been a while since Charlie Puth surprised us with some new music, and he’s finally ready for a comeback. The music video for his first solo single in two years “Light Switch” is here, and it’s all about getting your life together after a bad breakup.

The hilarious visual was directed by Christian Breslauer, and it opens with Puth watching TV and eating snacks, seemingly out of shape after a bad breakup. A Tae Bo instructor Billy Blanks steps out of TV to help him get back in shape and get his life back on track, but even that isn’t enough to win over his ex.

Puth has been documenting the creative process behind making this song on TikTok for several months and he even credited fans on this social media platform for helping him bring “Light Switch” to life.

“On the songwriting level, it was really cool to share this song with the fans while I made it. So they felt like they were involved at the very beginning of the song, like they almost wrote it with me,” said Puth in a statement.

“Light Switch” will serve as the lead single on Puth’s upcoming album Charlie, set to come out later this year.
