The modern-day version of the classic horror Wolf Man has been in the works for quite some time, and its release date is finally on the horizon. Universal Pictures gave us the taste of things to come with a new trailer, which sees Christopher Abbott turning into a titular monster and terrorizing his family.
Abbott leads the cast of Wolf Man in the role of Blake, a man from San Francisco who inherits his remote childhood home in rural Oregon after his father is presumed dead, and decides to visit it with his wife and young daughter.
“As the family approaches the farmhouse in the dead of night, they’re attacked by an unseen animal and, in a desperate escape, barricade themselves inside the home as the creature prowls the perimeter. As the night stretches on, however, Blake begins to behave strangely, transforming into something unrecognizable,” reads the film’s official synopsis.
In addition to Abbot as Blake, Wolf Man will star Emmy winner Julia Garner as his wife Charlotte and Matilda Firth as their daughter Ginger, plus Sam Jaeger (The Handmaid’s Tale), Ben Prendergast (The Sojourn Audio Drama) and Benedict Hardie (The Invisible Man) in supporting roles.
Wolf Man will be released by Universal Pictures on January 17, 2025.
