With five seasons under its belt, Snowfall is one of FX’s longest-running crime dramas right now, but its ending is almost here. The network announced the show’s renewal for its sixth season, but also revealed this is going to be its final chapter.

Snowfall was created by John Singleton, Eric Amadio, and Dave Andron, and it premiered to positive reviews in 2017. It takes place in the midst of the first crack epidemic of the ’80s in Los Angeles and follows a young drug kingpin Franklin Saint who’s still trying to rise through the ranks.

Damson Idris, who played the lead role in this series, said he’s incredibly proud of the show they’ve made and the impact it has had on the culture over the course of the past five seasons.

“Very rarely does a TV show get to the sixth season mark and saying goodbye to Franklin Saint will be heartbreaking. But the family and relationships I’ve made on this journey will last a lifetime. I know John Singleton is looking down, smiling proud,” said Idris in a statement.

In addition to Idris, Snowfall also stars Carter Hudson, Emily Rios, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, and Michael Hyatt. The show’s fifth season is currently earing on FX, and the season finale is set to premiere on April 20.
