Danny Boyle is set to helm the Michael B. Jordan-led feature film.

Warner Bros’ Methuselah has singed Boyle to direct from a script by Simon Beaufoy. Beaufoy will re-work a draft penned by Tony Gilroy. Boyle and  Beaufoy worked together in the past on Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours.

According to Variety, the original concept for the film was based on the Biblical story of a man who lived to be 969 years old, but that has reportedly changed, and the creative team is taking a new approach with the plot, and are considering making the project a franchise.

Jordan is also producing the film with Alana Mayo, as well as Boyle and Jeffrey Clifford. which was based on a treatment by James Watkins.
