“Deadwood” is Being Revived as a Movie

The Deadwood movie is very much alive.

The series, which was set in the South Dakota town of Deadwood during the 1870s, lasted 3 seasons on HBO.

Fans have long hoped that the hour-long entity would develop into a full-length feature and have now gotten their wish.

Programming president of HBO, Casey Bloys, confirmed that the production is a-go.

“It’s been a logistics nightmare getting all the cast members’ schedules together, but we are there. It is greenlit,” he said.

The screenplay is believed to have been written by series creator, David Milch, with the cast of Ian McShane, Timothy Olyphant, Molly Parker, and John Hawkes expected to return.

Filming is scheduled to begin in October, with it hopefully hitting screens around May next year.
