Disney has given us more live-action remakes of their animated classics than we can count, and another one is on the way. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is getting a live-action makeover, with the rising star Rachel Zegler in the lead.

Even if you’re not familiar with Zegler at this point in time, you certainly will be by the end of the year. She’s set to play one of the lead roles in Steven Spielberg’s adaptation of West Side Story, and she’s also been cast alongside Zachary Levi in Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

The new version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will be directed by Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer, The Amazing Spider-Man), who had nothing but words of praise for Zegler.

“Rachel’s extraordinary vocal abilities are just the beginning of her gift. Her strength, intelligence, and optimism will become an integral part of rediscovering the joy in this classic Disney fairytale,” said Webb in a statement.

Snow White is only one of the Disney classics with a promising remake in development. The Little Mermaid starring Halle Bailey is currently on the way, but the studio is also in the early stages of developing live-action versions of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Bambi, and Hercules.
