Life after Iron Man is looking fairly perilous for Robert Downey Jr..

After bidding farewell to his Marvel character following Avengers: Endgame, Downey Jr. is taking on the classic role of Doctor Doolittle.

Created by Hugh Lofting in 1920, Doctor Doolittle has the gift of speaking to animals and was featured in several children’s books.

Eddie Murphy played the character in the most-recent big screen adaptation and its sequel which came out in 1998 and 2001, respectively, with Downey Jr. now taking over the reins.

The premise of the film involves the doctor attempting to save the young Queen of England and is joined by a host of animal friends, all who sound like very famous Hollywood stars.

Tom Holland, Ralph Fiennes, Emma Thompson, Octavia Spencer, and Kumail Nanjiani all provide voices, while Antonio Banderas and Michael Sheen star as people.

Doolittle hits theatres on January 17th, 2020.
