A new Dracula feature is in development.

The untitled project is in the works at Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions, the production company behind the horror hit The Invisible Man.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project isn’t housed at Universal yet, and technically it could be made at another studio. However, it is highly unlikely, given that Blumhouse has a first-look deal with the studio.

Attached to direct the project is Karyn Kusama, whose directorial credits include Destroyer, The Invitation and Jennifer’s Body. Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay are writing the script. Sources tell THR that the new feature about the iconic Count would take place in modern times.
