Before he was one of the biggest music stars in the world, Drake won us over with his role of basketball star Jimmy Brooks on Degrassi: The Next Generation. Canadian rapper still remembers where he came from and he made it pretty clear in his latest music video. “I’m Upset” already went viral after giving us an amazing Degrassi reunion we’ve been waiting for years.
Drake’s fans who were supporting him from the very start were overjoyed when Degrassi Community School came into shot. It became obvious he’s going back to his roots by making high school reunion front and center of this video. Several actors who were part of the original cast accepted Drake’s call to return the hallowed halls of Degrassi high.
Nina Dobrev, Lauren Collins, Stacey Farber, Jake Epstein and Shane Kippel were happy to embrace their past. Some people we weren’t expecting were also around. Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith who made a few cameos on the hit show came back for some reason. Playing Jay and Silent Bob, no less!
“I’m Upset” is the latest single from Drake’s upcoming album Scorpion, that is coming out on June 29. It did a great job reminding people Canadian rapper has a new record coming out, but will it become a bigger hit than Hotline Bling or God’s Plan? It’s too early to say, but we’ll probably be hearing it everywhere this summer.
