Just when we thought Dwayne Johnson was done with the Fast & Furious franchise, he delivered a huge shocker and made a cameo in Fast X. It turns out this won’t be the last we see of his character Luke Hobbs since he’s gearing up for a comeback in an untitled Fast & Furious spin-off.

Johnson shared a video on social media announcing he’ll be back as Hobbs and revealed that he decided to return to the franchise after seeing how excited fans were to see his cameo in the end credits of Fast X.

“The secret of Hobbs being back in the Fast & Furious franchise… that was a secret that was hard as hell to keep. You guys know me, my operating motto is always fans first, so it has been so cool to see your reactions around the world of Hobbs returning,” said Johnson in the video.

Johnson made his last appearance as Luke Hobbs in the 2019 spin-off Hobbs & Shaw, but the upcoming film isn’t expected to serve as its direct sequel. Chris Morgan wrote the script, while Johnson will serve as one of the producers through his company Seven Bucks Productions. The door is also open for his potential return in the upcoming Fast X sequel, set to premiere in 2025.
