Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department ruled the Billboard 200 chart for 12 consecutive weeks, but all good things must come to an end. She found a formidable opponent in Eminem, who dethroned her atop the Billboard 200 chart with his new album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).

The Death of Slim Shady soared to the top with 281,000 units, the most for any rap album released this year. SEA units compromise 164,500 (equaling 220.08 million on-demand official streams), album sales comprise 114,000 (all from digital downloads), while TEA units compromise 2,500.

Eminem is the first artist to hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart since Taylor Swift released The Tortured Poets Department back in April. It spent 12 consecutive weeks atop the chart before slipping to No. 4 behind The Death of Slim Shady, ENHYPEN’s Romance: Untold, and Zach Bryan’s The Great American Bar Scene.

Following the success of The Death of Slim Shady, Eminem has 11 chart-topping albums under his belt, tying Bruce Springsteen, Barbra Streisand, and Kanye West, the fifth-most behind The Beatles, Jay-Z, Taylor Swift, and Drake.

The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) hit the shelves on July 12, and it produced singles “Houdini”, “Tobey” ft. BabyTron and Big Sean, and “Somebody Save Me” ft. Jelly Roll.
