Eminem is gearing up for the release of his next studio album, and he created a lot of buzz with its lead single. The music video for “Houdini” is one star-studded affair, and it sees the famous rapper traveling back to the past while trying to figure out what the future holds.

The visual for “Houdini” clearly echoes Eminem’s 2002 music video for “Without Me”, and it even sees the rapper stepping into a portal that transforms him back to this era. The song’s opening lyrics, “Guess who’s back, back again/Shady’s back, tell a friend” are also a clear reference to this song.

“Houdini” is also sprinkled with countless cameos, and it sees many of the rapper’s friends helping him put his new album on the map. Rappers Dr. Dre, 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, and comedian Shane Gillis all make brief appearances before Pete Davidson jumps into the frame with bleach-blonde hair, reminiscent of the rapper’s past self.

“Houdini” was released as the lead single from the rapper’s upcoming studio album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce). He announced its release with a teaser he shared during the NFL draft event in his hometown Detroit, which dropped hints about the mysterious death of his alter ego Slim Shady.
