One “Emma” out — another “Emma” in.

Emma Stone has had to pull out of the upcoming adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s novel, Little Women.

The film, by Ladybird director, Greta Gerwig, already boasts a cast which includes Saoirse Ronan, Timothée Chalamet, Meryl Streep, Laura Dern, Florence Pugh, and James Norton.

The La La Land actress is no longer able to join the project as a result of promotional obligations for the Fox Searchlight film, The Favourite.

But worry not, because another Emma will be taking her place.

Enter, Beauty and the Beast actress, Emma Watson!

The irony is that this is not the first time that the two Emmas have swapped roles, as Miss Stone was originally supposed to star in the Disney remake, and Miss Watson in the Oscar-winning musical.

It has not yet been established just which role Emma (Watson) will play in the star-studded production which is scheduled for release in 2019.
