David Corenswet is getting ready to lead the next Superman movie, and we finally know what his iteration of the iconic character will look like. Director James Gunn took to social media to share the first photo of Corenswet suiting up to save the day.

According to its official logline, this superhero blockbuster “tells the story of Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas.” Superman is described as “the embodiment of truth, justice, and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”

David Corenswet, best known as the star of The Politician and Hollywood, landed the lead role in this project last summer, and we finally know what his Clark Kent will look like. Gunn shared the first photo of Corenswet as Superman, which shows him putting on his suit while a giant meteor flies in the background.

The cast of Superman will also include Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Milly Alcock as Supergirl, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern/Guy Gardner, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, and Edi Gathegi as Mister Terrific, among others.

Superman will be released in theatres on July 11, 2025, via Warner Bros. Pictures.
