NBC will be releasing a new musical drama this January.
Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist starring Jane Levy has come out with the first look into Zoey, the computer programmer’s head and heart.
“One second I’m getting an MRI, and the next second, people are singing to me!” says Levy’s Zoey in the video.
The series will be about Zoey, who prefers pop songs over podcasts after an unusual event and she begins to hear the thoughts and feelings of those around her including her coworkers, family, and even strangers via pop songs. When she first hears these things, she thinks she is going crazy, but with her neighbor Mo’s help she connects with her sick father and she realizes that her new abilities are an amazing gift, which allows her to see the world in a new way.
Skylar Astin, Alex Newell, John Clarence Stewart, Peter Gallagher, and Mary Steenburgen are also set to star in the series.
The clip shows Zoey’s friends and coworkers busting out into songs like Jonas Brothers’ “Sucker,” The Rolling Stones’ “Satisfaction,” and DJ Khaled’s “All I Do Is Win.”
