Florence and the Machine is busy teasing their fifth studio album right now, and they just dropped the second single from this highly-anticipated record. “Heaven is Here” is one of their songs written during the lockdown and it comes with a powerful dance video that perfectly captures the artist’s spirit.

In an official statement explaining the background behind this single, Florence Welch said it was the first song she wrote in lockdown and it was her goal to create something monstrous.

“And this clamor of joy, fury, and grief was the first thing that came out. With dance studios also shut it was my dream to one day create choreography with it. So it’s one of the first pieces of music I have made specifically with contemporary dance in mind,” explained Welch.

“Heaven is Here” was directed by Autumn de Wilde, the shooting took place in Kyiv, Ukraine back in November. Welch is joined by a group of dancers in an abandoned office space. The singer revealed that two of them are currently sheltering in their hometown as the city remains under the Russian siege, and sent words of encouragement their way.

“Heaven is Here” will be featured on Welch’s fifth studio album, together with the previously released single “King”.
