The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot has landed at Peacock and the streaming service has given it a two season order.

Smith announced the news on YouTube saying, “We have just officially closed the deal with Peacock with an unprecedented two-season-order from a pitch. I’ve been in this business for thirty years and that does not happen. They ordered two full seasons of Bel-Air based on the quality of the pitch and the work that you guys have done. So I want to say congratulations. I am hyped.”

Bel-Air will be based on Morgan Cooper’s viral video that reimagined the comedy series as a drama and it will be set in modern-day America. The reboot will center around Will’s journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the mansions of Bel-Air.

Just over a week ago, HBO Max, which exclusively airs The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, announced that they were working on an unscripted Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion special with the original cast members including Will Smith, Tatyana Ali, Karyn Parsons, Joseph Marcell, Daphne Maxwell Reid, and Alfonso Ribeiro.
