We can always count on Halsey to pour her heart and soul into her music, and her latest single might be the most personal one yet. She teased her next album with a gut-wrenching new song “The End”, which sees her getting candid about her recent health struggles.
Halsey teased new music by writing, “Long story short, I’m lucky to be alive. Short story short, I wrote an album.” She tagged The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Lupus Research Alliance in the social media posts announcing her new single and later confirmed she’s been diagnosed with lupus and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder.
Halsey thanked her fans for the support they’ve given her and said that both of these disorders are currently in remission, even though she’ll have to deal with them for the rest of her life.
“After a rocky start, I slowly got everything under control with the help of amazing doctors. After 2 years, I’m feeling better and I’m more grateful than ever to have music to turn to,” she later wrote on Instagram.
“The End” will be featured on Halsey’s upcoming fifth studio album, which still doesn’t have an official title or release date. She previously teased its release by launching a website ForMyLastTrick.com.
