You can’t keep a Harley Quinn down.

With Margot Robbie’s clown princess going off on her own adventures in an upcoming solo film, it was rumoured that she would not be returning to the film series in which she was introduced, Suicide Squad.

Harley, whose character’s real name is Dr. Harleen Quinzel, is best known as the sidekick to The Joker Who was recently portrayed on screen by Jared Leto.

In spite of that, Robbie will soon be headlining Harley’s own film entitled Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) alongside Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Rosie Perez.

Reports had claimed that Harley Quinn would not be appearing in the Suicide Squad sequel which is being directed by James Gunn and described as a “relaunch”.

But, Forbes, which originally reported the news, has now said that Harley will, in fact, be a part of the 2021 film called The Suicide Squad, and that the Australian actress will be playing her.

Yay for continuity.
