No more “His and Her Royal Highnesses” for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

An announcement from Queen Elizabeth II and Buckingham Palace reveals details of Harry and Meghan’s split from the Royal family.

“The Sussexes will not use their HRH titles as they are no longer working members of the Royal Family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared their wish to repay Sovereign Grant expenditure for the refurbishment of Frogmore Cottage, which will remain their UK family home,” the Palace said.

This announcement follows the couple’s own announcement that they have chosen to “make a transition this year [and] intend to step back as senior members of the Royal Family, and work to become financially independent.”

Prince Harry and Markle will retain their titles as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but will no longer receive public payment for their royal duties.

The Queen’s announcement comes following many months of conversations, and the changes are set to take effect this spring.
