After impressing the critics and HBO viewers and winning multiple Emmy Awards, Barry is officially ending its run. The acclaimed dark comedy will conclude its story with the upcoming fourth season, and HBO just dropped a teaser for its final chapter.

Barry premiered on HBO in 2018, and it centers on a hired assassin who finds a new sense of purpose after moving to Los Angeles and deciding to become an actor. Over the course of the first three seasons, we watched Barry struggle to escape his dark past and put the lives of everyone around him at risk as he sinks further and further into LA’s criminal underbelly.

Bill Hader, the show’s star, co-creator, and director of Season 4, confirmed its ending in a recent interview with Variety. He said they decided to bring Barry’s story to a close after “a very clear ending presented itself” and described the show’s next chapter as “structurally radical in some ways.”

In addition to Hader, Barry also stars Henry Winkler, Stephen Root, Michael Irby, Anthony Carrigan, and Sarah Goldberg. They’re all expected to return when Season 4 returns to HBO on April 16. It will feature a total of eight episodes, and its finale is expected to air on May 28.
