HBO Shares First Footage of “House of the Dragon”

House of the Dragon is one of the most highly-anticipated shows HBO has on the way, and we finally know what it will look like. The first trailer for the Game of Thrones spin-off is here and it’s promising an epic adventure that was worth the wait.

House of the Dragon will chronicle the beginning of the end of House Targaryen, charting the events leading up to the Targaryen civil war, known as the “Dance of the Dragons”. The first teaser is set to the voiceover of Daemon Targaryen, played by Matt Smith, saying: “Dreams didn’t make us kings, dragons did.”

In addition to Smith, the first teaser offer glimpses at several more key players set to star in House of the Dragon, including Olivia Cooke as Lady Alicent Hightower and Emma D’Arcy as Rhaenyra Targaryen. The show is also set to star Paddy Considine as King Viserys Targaryen and Rhys Ifans as Otto Hightower.

House of the Dragon still doesn’t have an official release date, but it’s set to premiere on HBO sometime in 2022 and consist of 10 episodes. The series draws inspiration from George R. R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood, originally published in 2018.
