“Homecoming” Season 2 Trailer: Janelle Monáe is a Veteran With No Memory

Janelle Monáe in "Homecoming"

The first full-length trailer has been released for Homecoming Season 2 starring Janelle Monáe.

Monáe will star in this second season, playing Jackie, a military veteran, who wakes up with no memories stranded in a rowboat. “I knew something was wrong with me, but I couldn’t explain it to anyone. It was like the people around me were keeping a secret, like we were in a movie, and everybody knew we were in a movie except for me.”

Monáe will be stepping in for Julia Roberts, who will remain on the project as an executive producer. Stephan James and Hong Chau will reprise their roles as Walter and Audrey and Chris Cooper and Joan Cusack will join the cast.

“It’s doing something that is unique in the television space. When I read these episodes, I was like, ‘Oh wow, this is still going to have a very special quality and take everyone in an unexpected place.’ It’s even more elevated this season — and even more suspenseful,” Monáe said about Homecoming.

The second season of Homecoming will be released on May 22 on Amazon Prime.
