The myths and legends about Robin Hood inspired countless movies over the years, and another one is on the way. Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer are gearing up to lead Michael Sarnoski’s dark reimagining of the classic tale, titled The Death of Robin Hood.

This film will put a dark twist on the tale of Robin Hood, and see the legendary outlaw leading a life of solitude as a battle-worn loner while grappling with his past after a life of crime and murder. He finally finds a chance at salvation after a mysterious woman finds him gravely injured.

Writer/director Michael Sarnoski (A Quiet Place: Day One) said it’s an incredible opportunity to freshly innovate the story we all know with this team of amazing collaborators.

“Securing the perfect cast to transform the script to screen was essential. I could not be more thrilled and trusting in Hugh and Jodie to bring this story to life in a powerful and meaningful way,” he said in a statement.

Oscar nominee Hugh Jackman will lead this film, and this is not the only major project he’s attached to. He’ll return as his most iconic character Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine this summer. Emmy winner Jodie Comer is fresh off starring in The End We Start From and will next be seen in Jeff Nichols’ The Bikeriders.
