The all-black Western drama has cast Luther star Idris Elba to The Harder They Fall.
Jeymes Samuel will be making his directorial debut and producing is Jay-Z, James Lassiter, and Lawrence Bender. Jay-Z and Samuel will write and produce the music for the film. The pair previously worked together for the Great Gatsby soundtrack.
The Netflix film is co-written by Samuel and Boaz Yakin and it’s about outlaw Nat Love (Johnathan Majors) who learns that the man (Elba) who killed his parents two decades prior is being released from prison and he decides to gather his gang to seek revenge on the situation.
You can catch Elba in the much-anticipated adaptation of the Broadway musical Cats in December and Concrete Boys, which just started filming.
