Fast And Furious spin-off is already one of the most anticipated movies of 2019, but it just got even more exciting. Idris Elba is the latest addition to the star-studded cast and he’s set to play the main villain.

Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham will be reprising their roles as special agent Luke Hobbs and criminal mastermind Deckard Shaw. Working title Hobbs and Shaw makes it clear their characters will be front and center. We’re yet to find out why the two unlikely allies decided to join forces, but Elba’s casting is the first clue to uncovering this mystery. His character will be the antagonist Hobbs and Shaw have to go up against.

Idris Elba is no stranger to playing villains in big summer blockbusters. He already portrayed powerful warlord Krall in Star Trek: Beyond. Despite the fact we don’t know anything about his Hobbs and Shaw role, it already sounds more promising. At least we’ll get to see his face this time around!

The creative team behind the Fast And Furious spin-off is another thing to be excited about. Director David Leitch already gave us two smash hits with Atomic Blonde and Deadpool 2. The upcoming action flick will probably be another worthy addition to his resume when it hits the theaters on July 26, 2019.
