Thor is going to look a little different when the God of Thunder returns to cinemas…

Make that goddess

During the San Diego Comic-Con, it was announced that Natalie Portman would be taking up the mantle as the female Thor.

The Death and Life of John F. Donovan actress is no stranger to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She has played Jane Foster in two Thor films as well as in Avengers: Endgame.

The last Avengers film signified the end of the third phase of the MCU, which incorporated 23 movies over 11 years.

Thor: Love and Thunder will be the fourth film in the Thor franchise and the second to be directed by Taika Waititi.

Tessa Thompson will also return as Valkyrie, the king of Asgard who is in search of a queen, hinting at her becoming the first openly-queer Marvel character.

And for all you Chris Hemsworth lovers, fear not — the Men In Black: International star will be back, too.

Portman will take up the enchanted hammer when Thor: Love and Thunder hits theatres on November 2nd, 2021.
