Jessica Chastain boards Scene From a Marriage flowing Michelle Williams exit.
Multiple outlets confirm that the actress is set to play a lead role in the upcoming HBO limited series. Taking over the role from Williams who exited the project due to scheduling conflicts, Chastain will star opposite Oscar Isaac. Chastain and Issac starred together in the feature A Most Violent Year in 2014.
The new version of Scenes From a Marriage, will re-examine the original’s depiction of love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage and divorce through the lens of a contemporary American couple.
The project is an adaptation of Ingmar Bergman’s 1970s miniseries. Adapting the classic is Hagai Levi, who is also set to direct. Chastain and Isaac will also executive produce in addition to starring.
