Danny Boyle will invite us back into his post-apocalyptic world with the horror sequel 28 Years Later, and this project will feature a few familiar faces. Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes are circling the latest installment in this acclaimed horror franchise.

Not much is known about the plot of this sequel, but it’s safe to assume it will be set in the same post-apocalyptic world as its predecessor. This franchise kicked off with 28 Days Later starring Cillian Murphy in 2002, and produced a sequel 28 Weeks Later, led by Robert Carlyle, Rose Byrne, Jeremy Renner, and Idris Elba.

Almost two decades passed since then, and director Danny Boyle is finally ready to revisit this world, alongside screenwriter Alex Garland. 28 Years Later is reportedly being developed as the first film in a new trilogy, and Sony Pictures brought Nia DaCosta on board to direct a potential second film in this series.

28 Years Later cast will be as star-studded as it gets, and it will include Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes. Comer is the Emmy-winning star of Killing Eve, who most recently starred in The End We Start From and The Bikeriders. Marvel star Aaron Taylor-Johnson will next be seen in The Fall Guy and Kraven the Hunter, while the Oscar nominee Ralph Fiennes will soon play Odysseus in The Return.
