John Frusciante Rejoins Red Hot Chili Peppers

The rock band and the guitarist are reuniting after a decade apart. 

News that John Frusciante is returning to the Red Hot Chili Peppers was confined by the group via Instagram on Sunday. 

The statement confirmed that the band is “parting ways” with Josh Klinghoffer writing “Josh is a beautiful musician who we respect and love. We are deeply grateful for our time with him, and the countless gifts he shared with us.”

With the news of Klinghoffer’s departure, the announcement also confirmed Frusciante’s return. 

“We also announce, with great excitement and full hearts, that John Frusciante is rejoining our group.”

This is the third time Frusciante joins the gang. He first joined in 1988, replacing Hillel Slovak. He the departed in 1992 due to health issues. He returned again in from 1998 until 2009 when he was replaced by Klinghoffer.
